late addition
A busy and eventful day, followed by a moody sort of an evening, so nothing to add of any note except to say how stupid of me not to mention Micheal Moorcock as another favourite author, more on that later, and also that of course Ed McBain and Dirk Bogarde can't be classed as the sort of writers who are questioning the nature of reality, so I guess I just like them because I do. Ed McBain is warm and humane. good humoured and funny, entertaining and easy to read! And dead actually since last year. And Dirk Bogarde, also dead of course, is interesting and deep and complex and writes beautifully and I love his Visconti films, and Liliana Cavani's "the Night Porter".
